COR 108 1D - Global Changes, Local Lives

3 Credit(s)

This course is designed to develop understanding of the global forces that shape communities, our lives within our communities, and our choices about how we as individuals live. Within a multicultural and interdisciplinary framework, we will use concepts from sociology as well as Dominican values to explore and evaluate the impact of globally driven trends such as human migration, extractive mining, and industrial decline. We will meet with local people affected by global economic change, visit relevant sites in the community, and write the stories of ourselves and our communities.

Prerequisite(s): First year students only
