This course explores the role of financial accounting in measuring and communicating business activities to external users primarily through financial statements. Information is measured through the application of the double entry system of accounting to financial transactions that impacts a company’s resources and claims to those resources. Fundamental principles of financial accounting are explored as they relate to accounting systems, internal control, asset, liability and equity accounts. This course also includes an introduction to the Intuit QuickBooks small business accounting software.
