This interdisciplinary, experiential course consists of two parts: The first is conducted in weekly meetings during the Fall semester and the second in London, England, during the Winterim term. This first part of the course will offer an introduction to the study of theater and art history, and to the social, cultural, and artistic history of London. With our particular focus on social change, gender struggles, economic and racial justice, immigration, and multiculturalism, we help students analyze cross-cultural issues that will be embedded in meaningful community-based travel experience. Course participants will engage in readings and research relating to some aspect of our planned experience and will present this research to the class. Cross-listed GS 370
