BIO 480 3K - Senior Seminar Minimum Credit(s) Awarded: 3 Maximum Credit(s) Awarded: 3
Edgewood’s majors in the biological and environmental sciences emphasize the contributions of broadly educated scientists to a just and compassionate world. As such, the scientific community engages a variety of different people in a collaborative effort to advance discovery and its ethical application. Senior Seminar is a capstone forum in which our advanced students use a technical presentation about their engaged learning experience to display expertise in their area of focus, demonstrate understanding of the scientific process and its application, and articulate a personal philosophy regarding their role in the scientific community. The course models the value of community collaboration by involving all members in the discourse that is a critical part of the scientific community through preparation, evaluation and discussion of the work of peers.
Offered Fall, Spring
Course Fee: No Prerequisite(s): BIO 252 OR BIO489 OR ENVS489 OR EXR479, COR 2, senior status, or consent of the instructor.
