This course prepares teachers with knowledge of language from a functional point of view. Students examine commonly used genres, learning about their structures and linguistic features so they can make language visible in their teaching. Activities prepare candidates to use the teaching and learning cycle to develop lessons within a genre-based unit of instruction.
