This course provides students with an understanding of key issues, concepts and tools applicable to healthcare quality, including the methods and practices that clinical practitioners, administrative managers and leaders of health systems deploy to measure and assure continuous improvement in patient safety and clinical quality. Topics covered include measurement of healthcare quality, financial incentives related to quality, continuous quality improvement initiatives, data analytics and AI in quality improvement, and global perspectives on healthcare quality standards. The course will also focus on ethical and legal considerations in quality improvement.
