This course covers the major molecular, cellular, and tissue organ systems related to nurse anesthesia practice including cardiovascular, respiratory, CNS, musculoskeletal, endocrine, hepatic/renal, hematologic, GI, immune. The nurse anesthesia student will gain a comprehensive understanding of a patient’s underlying physiological process and how the delivery of anesthesia effects each system. As the student progresses in the course, they will be expected to adapt their anesthesia plan of care to encompass the physiology of each patient, including gender, race, genetics along with organ systems and cellular functions.
