ANES 817 - Professional Aspects of Nurse Anes. Minimum Credit(s) Awarded: 2 Maximum Credit(s) Awarded: 2
This course will provide the nurse anesthesia student with current topics in the profession. The student will gain knowledge in the varying business models, practice settings, and supervision models. The students will also have a chance to ask questions about the profession, current workplace options and financial advice from practicing CRNAs and relevant professionals. Students will review the history and organization of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the responsibilities of the nurse anesthesia councils. Emphasis will be placed on the ethics of nurse anesthesia and the legal challenges and responsibilities of a certified registered nurse anesthetist.
