HCA 700 - Leadership & Organizational Change Minimum Credit(s) Awarded: 3 Maximum Credit(s) Awarded: 3
This course provides a comprehensive exploration of leadership theories, practices, and applications within healthcare organizations. Students will examine foundational leadership concepts, including self-leadership, transformational and transactional leadership, communication strategies, team development, and organizational culture. Emphasis is placed on ethical leadership, diversity and inclusion, coaching and mentoring, as well as the unique challenges of healthcare leadership in complex organizational environments. Through case studies, self-assessments, and practical applications, students will develop the competencies necessary to lead effectively in various healthcare settings, promoting patient-centered care and organizational excellence.

Prerequisite(s): Enrollment in MHA or MPH degree programs. Students must be enrolled in or have completed HCA 600 Healthcare Management and Systems.
