The Theatre Arts: Teaching Concentration requires 74 credits in Theatre and Education for licensure.

Required Production Crews
Students must complete 4 credits worth of THA 292  (0.5 credits each) in the following production areas:Â
- Stage ManagementÂ
- Theatre Management/Box Office
- DramaturgyÂ
- Sound
- LightsÂ
and 3 of the following 4 production areas:Â
- Costume,
- Hair & Make-up
- Props Â
- Sets Â

Teaching Concentration Requirements
For licensure, students complete a course of study within both Education and Theatre Arts. This progam concentration is, essentially, a double major in Theatre Arts and Education.
Other Requirements
Practicum Experiences are required for Theatre Arts Teaching within the Education department.Â
Students are highly encouraged to take education courses with a practicum component in the following sequence:
- ED 200 D , ED 271 P Â and ED 215 J Â should be taken concurrently along with a 0-credit initial practicum (ED 200P ) in the Fall.
- ED 306 Â and ED 330 Â should also be coupled with a 0-credit initial practicum (ED 250P ) in the Spring.
- ED 302 I Â should be taken concurrently with a 0-credit intermediate practicum (ED 300P ) in the Fall.
- ED 422 Â should be taken concurrently with 0-credit advanced practicum (ED 450P ) in the Fall.
- ED 401 3U Â should be taken the semester prior to student teaching in the Fall.
- ED 402 Â should be taken the same semester as student teaching and will be a spring offering.
Licensing Steps
To attain the Early Childhood through Adolescence (Birth-Age 21) license, students must have the following:Â
- GPA of 2.75 in Communication Skills, General Education, Content Knowledge, Teacher Education
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in content area coursework
