At least 5 courses in Literature at the 300/400 level, one of which must be a pre-1865 literature course.

Transfer students must take at least four courses in English from Edgewood College at the 300/400 level in addition to a COR 3 seminar in the Humanities. Post-baccalaureate students are exempt from this requirement.

For students intending to pursue an initial educator license to teach middle/high school in Wisconsin, it is recommended that candidates complete:

Two additional graduate-level classes comprised of the following courses in the Accelerated Secondary Program (ASP) in the spring semester of senior year:
- EDU 600 (3 cr)
- EDU 690 (3 cr)

Upon graduation, students may matriculate into the Accelerated Secondary Program (ASP) to complete the professional education core sequence for secondary education licenses. In year 5, students will complete an additional 16 credits with an option to earn a Master of Arts degree in Education after completing 8 additional graduate credits (*Note* This is a 30-credit MA + License Program).
