OverviewNeuroscience is a multidisciplinary field of study devoted to understanding the relationship between brain and behavior. Students will learn foundational laboratory skills and core concepts through coursework across many disciplines. Students will develop oral and written scientific communication skills as well as the ability to critically evaluate scientific research. Neuroscience majors can specialize their focus through community internships and independent mentored research, which is designed to prepare students for careers and/or graduate study in various sciences and health-related fields. The following entry requirements must be met prior to a student declaring the Neuroscience major: The Training Emphasis is designed to prepare students with the prerequisites needed for training programs such as medical school or other relevant post-baccalaureate programs in Neuroscience.
