The minor in Health and Society integrates multi-disciplinary coursework within a sociological framework to provide both broad and deep perspectives on the social challenges of population and individual health. A minimum of five courses, to equal at least 17 credits, are required. A range of electives allows students to tailor the minor to their specific interests and emphasize U.S. or global issues.

Electives
In consultation with the minor advisor, students will select three elective courses to reach a total of at least nine credits, representing three programs or disciplines, from the following list. One additional course in Sociology may be included.
Courses that are part of a two-semester sequence count as one. Unless part of a two-semester sequence, only one two-credit course may be included among the three electives.
