Accounting, Post-Baccalaureate BS

Overview

The Post-Baccalaureate BS in Accounting prepares students for careers as accountants and auditors across business sectors and industries. Students must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any field from a regionally-accredited college or university to gain entry to this major.

Admissions Requirements

Students must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university.

In addition to holding a bachelor’s degree, applicants must have either completed or be currently enrolled in the following courses (or transfer equivalents) at the time of application:

  • COMMS 100 O - Introduction to Communication or equivalent.
  • ENG 110 W - College Writing or equivalent.
  • MATH 121 M - Statistics or equivalent.
  • BUS 396 - Business Math or equivalent.
  • Approved College-Level Critical Thinking Skills Course.
  • ECON 255 GJ - Principles of Macroeconomics
  • ECON 256 J - Principles of Microeconomics
  • Students must meet general education requirements

Policies

The Post-Baccalaureate BS in Accounting requires a minimum of 51 credits, 32 of which must be taken at Edgewood College to meet the residency requirement. 

Students must complete all Required Courses and BUS courses with a grade of C or better.

One of the following, to be selected with Advisor:

  • Any approved Business course.
  • Any approved Accounting course.

Note: Students may select one course from graduate-level course offerings with departmental approval.
