Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Post-Graduate Certificate

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Post-Graduate Certificate is designed for Master's-prepared nurses to extend their area of practice and to focus on providing primary care needs of patients across the lifespan. Graduates will be eligible to sit for the Family Nurse Practitioner certification exam.

Students applying to a graduate certificate program use the non-degree admission criteria, which requires a transcript showing a baccalaureate or more advanced degree in addition to the graduate application. Substitutions and waivers are determined by the Assistant Dean of Advanced Practice Graduate Nursing Programs or their designee. A full transcript and syllabi review of all prior courses will be required. APRN Core Courses (advanced pathology, advanced physical assessment, and advanced pharmacology) must have been taken separately and have delineated titles that are within the population or role focus.

Students cannot receive more than one C in the certificate program or they will be placed on probation. A student will be dismissed if he/she does not achieve a 3.0 in the next term following probation status.
