The 30-credit District Administrator/District Leadership concentration prepares students for a licensed position as a PK-12 District Administrator or superintendent and culminates in an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree.

Students enrolled in the District Administrator/District Leadership Licensure Program explore their roles as leaders and build upon and extend their competence in the following areas as they relate to educational leadership: organizational analysis, educational change and reform, school law, public school finance, curriculum design and evaluation for administrators, school personnel administration, and educational policy. Students participate in field-based experiences as part of the licensure course sequence.

This program is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for PK-12 district administration licenses. Students who have successfully completed the 30 credits in the District Administrator/District Leadership Licensure Program will have the opportunity to apply for the District Administrator License. As necessary for advanced licensure, the principal licensure track may also be taken concurrently with this program. Further, the Director of Instruction, Director of Special Education and Pupil Services, and School Business Administrator licenses are available, although additional classes and experiences are necessary for any of these three licensing areas.
