Healthcare Administration, MHA
Program Description
The Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program is designed for emerging leaders who want to drive organizational transformation and make a meaningful impact in today’s dynamic healthcare environment. Rooted in Dominican values, the program equips graduate students with the strategic, operational, and leadership skills needed to serve their communities with integrity while pursuing lifelong learning in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape.
Organizations across the healthcare sector are in urgent need of leaders equipped to navigate the complexities of rapidly changing healthcare delivery systems, regulatory environments, and patient care demands. Employers are increasingly seeking professionals who possess the capacity to take initiative in strategic leadership, quality improvement, and organizational change management while maintaining focus on patient outcomes and community health.
The curriculum blends core management principles with healthcare-specific knowledge, utilizing practical application of healthcare management skills to further develop expertise in critical thinking and decision-making focused on healthcare operations, finance, policy, and ethical leadership. Students engage in real-world case studies, interactive learning experiences, and collaborative group projects that simulate the multi-disciplinary team environments they experience in their home organizations.
Completion of the MHA program requires a total of 30 credits and can be accomplished in as little as 12 months for accelerated completion, or spread across 24 months for a more traditional pace. To accommodate the busy schedules of working healthcare professionals, the coursework is offered completely online with multiple start dates throughout the year.
