Mathematics Teaching Minor

This minor, together with a licensing major (Early Adolescent through Adolescent), can be part of a program leading to a Wisconsin license to teach mathematics as an add-on licensure area at the Early Adolescent through Adolescent level. The minor is composed of thirty-two credits in mathematics.

Required Courses
A student must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or above in courses required for the minor. Completion of Praxis II: Mathematics Content Knowledge (5161) with a score at or above the current minimum qualifying score for the State of Wisconsin set by Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is required. The School of Education has additional requirements for licensure. Students are recommended to take MATH 451 one or two semesters prior to student teaching or entering a post-baccalaureate licensure program. |
