Minor Requirements
The minor, together with a licensing major, is part of a program leading to a Wisconsin initial educator license to teach French at the level corresponding to the major.
Thirty-one credits beyond FREN 101 and FREN 102 , to include:
French or Transfer Courses
Eight credits of intermediate French or transfer courses (maximum of 8 credits accepted or 8 retroactive credits): Language Courses
Eight credits from language from the following: Literature or Culture Courses
Eight credits of literature or culture from the following, not to be repeated from the above language list: Methods and Phonetics Courses
Seven credits in methods and phonetics:
Study Abroad
Students should consult their advisor about study abroad for variable credit. For the completion of the Education Professional Requirements and licensing requirements for teacher education, see School of Education . A French Teaching Major must be accepted into Emergent Professional Transition before being admitted to FREN 459F .
