In addition to the Core Master’s Degree Experiences, a student must complete the Cross-Categorical: Special Education, Intellectual Disabilities, Emotional Disabilities and Learning Disabilities Licensing Sequence.

Students who do not have a teaching license will need to complete the Initial Licensure Sequence:

Clinical Experiences
Clinical Experiences are required for the MA in Education: Special Education Concentration:
Students are to enroll in the designated practicum/clinical experience during the same semester that they take the associated ED courses:
ED 616 and ED 704 – Students are to complete an Initial Level Clinical Placement of 15 hours through concurrent enrollment in ED 610P .
ED 672A and ED 672B – Students are to complete an Intermediate Level Clinical Placement of 15-20 hours through concurrent enrollment in ED 660P .
ED 675A – Students are to complete an Advanced Level Clinical Placement of 25 hours through concurrent enrollment in ED 760P .
ED 676A – Students are to complete an Advanced Level Clinical Placement of 25 hours through concurrent enrollment in ED 760P .
ED 688 – Students are to complete an Advanced Level Clinical Placement of 15-20 hours through concurrent enrollment in ED 760P .
These clinical hours fulfill degree completion and certification requirements for licensure as a teacher.
Practicum placement, observation, and assessment are coordinated through the Office of Clinical Experiences.
A supervision plan of the clinical experience will involve observation and assessment and assigned through the clinical office.
