The Substance Abuse Counseling Concentration is designed to educate students in the assessment, treatment and prevention of substance abuse problems utilizing the Biopsychosocial Model of Addiction.

This will be determined and announced by the Psychology Department. The curriculum and internship program in this major meet the state requirement for Alcohol and Drug (AODA) certification.
For graduation, students must have a 2.5 average in all psychology major requirements. A course in which a student receives a grade below a “CD” will not be counted toward the major or minor.
