Criminal Justice Major Requirements

The Criminal Justice major is an inter-disciplinary program anchored by a Sociological perspective, with a focus on compassion, human rights, and ethics.  The Criminal Justice major seeks to educate students to become criminal justice professionals who are able to handle the technical, psychological, and ethical challenges a career in a criminal justice occupation requires.  The Criminal Justice major is appropriate for those interested in a variety of careers in areas such as policing, probation, corrections, crime prevention programs, social service agencies addressing social problems such as poverty, at-risk youth, addiction, or other social issues related to crime.  The Criminal Justice major also serves as a Pre-law program for those interested in attending law school.
