NOTES:
History majors who intend to pursue graduate school are strongly encouraged to consult with their advisor regarding taking a foreign language.
History majors who intend to pursue an initial educator license to teach middle/high school should carefully consider the following graduate degree path:
Take 16 additional credits from three of the following disciplinary areas: economics, political science/international relations, sociology/anthropology, geography, and psychology
Take EDU 600 and EDU 690 in the Accelerated Secondary Education Program (ASP) in the Spring semester of the senior year
Upon graduation, students will matriculate into the Accelerated Secondary Education Program to complete the professional education core sequence for secondary education licenses. In their fifth year, these students will complete an additional 16 credits with an option to earn a Master of Arts degree in Education after completing 8 additional credits. (This is a 30 credit-hour MA + License program). Contact the School of Education, ASP, for more information.
